At Cilfiegan sawmill we strongly believe in sourcing our logs from local Welsh and English forests to benefit local businesses and reduce the environmental and economic costs that come with haulage.
Woodlands and forestry play a vital role in the UK’s landscape and provide habitat for many different species in the plant and animal kingdom, as well as absorbing carbon dioxide (CO2) from the air to balance atmospheric gases.
Wood is a renewable material which has many uses and by felling mature trees we can make way for new trees to be planted to continue this sustainable process of growing raw materials.
Cilfiegan sawmill is proud to be a supplier of FSC certified UK timber which shows our commitment to the environment and the future of British woodlands.
We have also invested in photovoltaic solar energy panels on the roof of our sawmill to power our large machinery which require a significant amount of electricity every day. This way we can operate by producing our own renewable energy to inevitably become a more sustainable business.
